Estimates for canal enlargements at Little Falls, 1839.

This "office book" entitled "Field Book 33" is attributed to Joseph French and dated November 18, 1839. It represents estimates made to sections 77 through 84 (except 79 and 80) near or at Little Falls, New York, during the Erie Canal enlargement. Computations are in manuscript, usually with a heading as to the section surveyed and a description of the structure or site for which measurements are given. There are very small drawings/cross sectional diagrams of lining ditches behind the canal wall throughout the records.
